Share |

The American Society of Landscape Architects Florida Chapter will be gathering on common ground July 11-13th, 2019 at the Loews Sapphire Falls Resort in Orlando, Florida. Join us at one of Universal Studio’s newest resort hotels and conference centers for our annual gathering.

The 2019 conference will have classes and tours focusing on several tracks, each relating to the theme for the 2019 conference: Common Ground. The educational course presentations should follow one of the following tracks as the focus of identifying narratives in the landscape that bring us towards a common ground:

  • Designing for Resiliency

  • Diversity in Design

  • The Path that Led You Here

  • How the Climate Changes Us

  • Designing for Safety

Each speaker will receive a one day pass to the conference for the day they present.

Hotel Room is NOT included. Speakers are responsible for their own accommodations.

All courses selected will be processed for professional approval through Florida Board of Landscape Architects, LA CES (accepted in most states) and APA. Please note that not all courses will qualify for APA credit.  Minimum course length is 1 hour with a minimum of 50 minutes of instruction.  Sessions can be 1, 1-1/2 or 2 hours in length.

Health, Safety & Welfare:

Please keep in mind that approval of courses through Florida Board of Landscape Architecture requires that the courses address health, safety and welfare of the public as landscape architecture licensure is based upon landscape architects protecting the public.  Approval through LA CES also requires that a minimum of “75% of the subject matter applies the principles of mathematical, physical, and social sciences in consultation, evaluation, planning, design (including, but not limited to the preparation and filing of plans, drawings, specifications, and other contract documents), and administration of contracts relative to projects principally directed at the functional and aesthetic use and preservation of land.”

Contact Corey Mathews at or Daniel Rodriguez, 2019 Conference Chair at if you have any concerns regarding the online submittal.

Thank you for supporting the 2019 ASLA Florida conference in Orlando through your educational seminars! We look forward to receiving your applications and making this conference one of the most educational and enjoyable to date.
